SANTA MONICA BANS PASTIC BAGS

The first major hurdle in banning the plastic bag in Santa Monica occurred last night. The Council unanimously voted to follow staff’s recommendations to draft an ordinance that bans plastic bags at all retail outlets (point of sale) and explore a paper bag free.
