MSA Beach Cleanup, The Day After
| July 5, 2009 | ||
| 9:00 AM | to | 11:00 AM |

On behalf of the members of the Malibu Surfing Association, I want to
invite you to join us for our second beach cleanup of 2009 on July 5th
– ‘THE DAY AFTER’ — the day after the busiest beach day of the year.
In 2008, over 1 million beachgoers visited Los Angeles-area beaches on
July 4th, overwhelming most on-site facilities. THE DAY AFTER is the
*only* Los Angles-area cleanup on the 5th and MSA will clean Surfrider
Beach for all its visitors. ‘THE DAY AFTER’ cleanup will provide a
great opportunity to see what people leave, neglect, forget, or reject
as part of their July 4th celebrations.
The Malibu Surfing Association is one of California’s first surfing
clubs and is dedicated to the fellowship of surfing and to the
stewardship of Surfrider Beach. The MSA has adopted world-famous
Surfrider Beach as part of the California Coastal Commission’s
Adopt-A-Beach program. Through this program, the MSA removed more than
450 lbs. of trash from Surfrider in 2008.
We hope to see you this Sunday!
