Many of us undoubtedly heard the recent story about a bodysurfer being killed at the Wedge at Newport Beach. This bodysurfer was Monte Valentin from Lawndale, CA, a member of Black Surfing Association. Below is the local news report about his death while riding that big day at the Wedge: http://www.cbs2.com/video/?id=109768@kcbs.dayport.com
Please show your support by joining the West LA / Malibu Chapter at this BSA organized paddle out to honor Monte Valentin, at the historic “Ink Well” (formerly a black-only beach during the 1920s through 1950s) in Santa Monica. This same location is now more commonly known as Bay Street.
