9:00 AMto2:00 PM

Help us transform the entry garden at the West Basin’s world-famous Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility to an Ocean Friendly Garden by participating in our Stormwater Capture Hands-On Workshop (HOW) and Workday. Learn how to size and install an infiltration area and build a rain garden to capture the “first flush” runoff from a typical residential 2,000 sq. ft. roof. Volunteer to be a part of the Surfrider solution and take the expertise home to your neighborhood. The day begins at 9:00 am with a brief discussion of sizing infiltration areas, overview of types of various infiltration media, and the steps required for installation of the materials being used on site. Then, it’s out of the classroom and into the garden. Wear sturdy clothing and bring sun protection, water and a lunch. RSVP with So Cal OFG Program Coordinator, Paul Herzog: pherzog@surfrider.org, 310-439-2500.
