Each year, in support of the United Nations International Day of Peace, Roots & Shoots members and friends come together to promote peace. Young people from all over the world craft Giant Peace Dove Puppets from reused materials and fly the Doves in their communities. From the top of Mount Kilmanjaro to the low plains of Kansas, Peace Doves fly, held high by hopeful hands. Together, young people are making peace possible. Join them! The event at Santa Monica Pier will also feature free music, celebrity performances, art & crafts, and inspiring youth projects on display.

We will be setting up our Surfrider Foundation tent on the pier to show our support for this special day and also to reach out to the 5000+ young people who may become future volunteers to help our mission to clean the oceans and beaches.

We have split the day into 2 volunteer shifts: 10:00am-1:30pm and 1:30pm-4:30pm. We need your help so please sign up for a shift now through your Volgistics account right now. Thanks everyone!
