Feb 8, 2012 – LA City Council passed a resolution to support SB 568, which would prohibit CA food vendors and restaurants from using expanded polystyrene food containers after January 1, 2016. Following the decision, Surfrider Foundation staff and activists along with members of Heal The Bay and Plastic Pollution Coalition were photographed for the City of LA and local media, then invited to the top of City Hall to see the Tom Bradley room, enjoy the view of downtown LA, and ring the bell at the top of the Tower.
